Henry Layland Knight I have been told was editor of the Grass Valley Union for a time & that he had been born in Manchester England in October 1817 and was married to a Margaret (nee Dring) also from England. they had moved to Grass Valley in the fall of 1853 and lived in a Log Cabin on Mains Street opposite the Benson Hotel, later they lived on Auburn St and he had a Blacksmith shop adjoining but a fire swept the town in 1855( Is this correct?) he also fought in the Mexican War. Can you tell me what cemetaries there are there as I would be a great help If I could find that is wher they are buried. Hi
